A Service Remembered

The ferries on the west coast of Canada are nothing more than empty vessels without the continuous effort and dedication of it's crew. The people who make up BC Ferries continuously sail to keep the bridge between the mainland and Vancouver Island open, and as a result create long lasting jobs. To commemorate those who retire, BC Ferries asked us to create a series of paintings to be provided as a quality print to those who worked so hard on these ships.

“A unique graphic novel that will make you reimagine what a university class can be”...

... was the heading for the introduction of an article in DAL, the magazine of Dalhousie university in Nova Scotia!
It was a huge honour for Plante Studios to be approached by the Métis Nation of Canada with the request to do the artwork and transform K. D. Beckett’s story ‘Rocking Ten’ into a graphic novel called ‘Rocking Spurs’ The Anti Bullying tour.
In collaboration with Dr. Lisa Blinkley and her third year seminar class, we succeeded in producing this fascinating 104 page book in less than two and half months!
Thanks to the magnificent help of Karole Beckett, author and Chief of the MNOC (Metis Nation of Canada) we accomplished this end result!
